In July 2018, the NHS will celebrate its 70th birthday. A key part of this celebration are the NHS70 Parliamentary Awards, which have been established to identify and highlight innovative and high-quality care across England, and to thank staff for their dedication, hard work and commitment by recognising and honouring their achievements.
I recently attended the launch of these awards in Parliament and really welcome this initiative to recognise those who provide an excellent service and go above and beyond, but are all too often unsung heroes.
I therefore invite all of you to contact me about anyone you feel deserves to be nominated, and I will then choose who to officially nominate for a national award before the deadline of Friday 23rd March.
Local and regional NHS England and Improvement teams then sift through MP’s nominations in their areas, selecting one in each category to go forward to the national shortlist. The final winners will then be announced at an awards ceremony in Parliament on Wednesday 4th July – the day before the NHS’ 70thBirthday.
I really want to hear from anyone who feels that they know an NHS member of staff who goes above and beyond and deserves this recognition – I look forward to receiving your emails!
