Robert held a photography competition, open to all West Oxfordshire pupils, and welcomed the winners to Parliament. You can see all the winning entries above.
Earlier this year, Robert wrote to all headteachers in West Oxfordshire inviting pupils to take part in his West Oxfordshire Schools Photography Competition. This was designed to encourage young photographers in our area to take pride in, and capture, the unique beauty of West Oxfordshire.
There were four categories: Architecture and History; People and Communities; Nature and Wildlife; and Abstract. These categories were then divided into four age groups, as well as an overall winner for each age group.
Robert received over 200 entries, and was impressed by the high standard, meaning it was very difficult to choose. The winning entries will be displayed in Robert’s Witney and Westminster offices.
All of the winners were invited, along with their parents, up to Parliament for a tour by Robert just before the Summer Recess break.
Robert said, “I would like to thank everyone who took part, and the standard of competition was extremely high. I was very impressed with talent on display, as well as the interesting interpretations of each category, and I think that the spirit of West Oxfordshire was certainly captured.
“I hope that the winners and their families enjoyed their visit to Parliament, and I will proudly display the winning entries so that everyone can see the unique beauty of West Oxfordshire."
