Robert said: "Delivering integrated transport networks is a key priority of mine, particularly local projects like the B4044 community path and Hanborough Pedestrian Bridge.
"I was therefore delighted to raise integrated transport in the debate I held in Parliament this week on active travel. I called for more funding for walking and cycling, as well as dedicated funding for local authorities to implement active travel schemes.
"Integration and joined-up thinking are key in delivering transport networks that work for the future. This is especially true when it comes to local projects like the B4044 community path. I was disappointed when Oxfordshire County Council were advised to drop the project in their bid for funding, but I was pleased to have the opportunity to press the Minister to work with OCC to deliver the path as soon as possible.
"I also raised the Hanborough Pedestrian Bridge as a brilliant example of integration - we need to link up good public transport with provision of active travel networks. We want to be able to get to the train station safely by walking or cycling or by using the bus and when we get there we want the trains to be regular and reliable. I commend Hanborough Parish Council for all the work they have done on the pedestrian bridge."
