Robert said: "Really encouraging that Oxfordshire County Council has today submitted a bid for £102 million of central government funding to go towards much-needed A40 improvements. This is a positive sign that we are moving in the right direction in tackling one of the biggest issues facing West Oxfordshire.
"I will be working with the Council and lobbying Ministers tirelessly to ensure we do everything we can to bring this important funding to our area."
