Robert recently attended a presentation on the tiger trade organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for China and led by wildlife conservationist Prerna Singh Bindra.
Speaking after the meeting, Robert said: "Together with a group of cross-party colleagues, I attended a disturbing presentation on the plight of the tiger. Less than 4,000 survive worldwide - and the main cause is poaching to meet demand for products arising out of their parts, with the trade exacerbated by tiger farms, stimulating demand. China is - as the Ivory ban showed - prepared to listen to the international community to tackle demand for wildlife products, and we must now work towards a full, unambiguous ban on the sale and use of big cat products."
