Robert said: "Pleased to listen to an important statement from the Defence Secretary on the Modernising Defence Programme. This is a crucial plan to further strengthen UK Defence and maintain our position as world-leading Armed Forces.
"To realise the ambitions of the programme, I asked the Defence Secretary to consider making greater use of reservists. We can see from the vital work of reservists at Brize Norton, particularly within the AirTanker programme, the potential of reservists to provide important specialist skills that are often not found in Regular Forces. I look forward to working with Ministers to ensure we fully utilise this key part of our national flexibility and resilience."
