Robert invited constituents, with whom he has been in regular contact about the service provided by Great Western Railway, to Parliament to meet with the head of GWR Mark Hopwood, and representatives from Network Rail.
Robert said, "I regularly receive messages from constituents whose trains have been delayed or cancelled, sometimes with little explanation - and have experienced this myself travelling to and from West Oxfordshire. Although I appreciate that GWR are bringing a number of service improvements, including the new Hitachi intercity trains, there have been a number of teething problems. I wanted to give the opportunity for those constituents most affected by these issues to talk to the highest levels, face to face. It was a useful discussion, and I will certainly be keeping a close eye on this issue."
