"For many of our rural communities, buses are a lifeline for local residents to get to work, school, to appointments and to see friends and family. Buses also help to relieve congestion on our roads, which is, as we all know, a major concern for the Combe area, especially with regards to the A40 and the A44. That is why I continue to campaign for better community transport services here in West Oxfordshire, working with local groups such as to encourage this good work, and I welcome Oxfordshire County Council’s support in increasing regular services.
"I also support and campaign for better community transport nationally; in March, I officially assumed my new role as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Community Transport. The launch of this APPG is a significant step in strengthening national support for community transport, and a fantastic way to recognise the fantastic work of community transport initiatives right across the UK. I was greatly encouraged by the Group’s inaugural meeting, and I look forward to seeing what we are able to achieve as a platform to encourage community transport projects.
"I continue to be in contact with Great Western Railway (GWR) about rail services in our area, highlighting the need for improvements along the North Cotswold Line. It is so important that we get this work right, and that we find a solution to the various issues that have affected services at Combe Station.
"If you would like to contact me about these issues or anything else, please do email me at robert@robetcourts.co.uk."
