"I was pleased to host my first “Ask the GWR” event in Charlbury in February. Many of you have made clear your views on the current state of rail services; indeed, being a regular commuter from Hanborough, I am fully aware of how much we rely on our rail service providers. I therefore decided that constituents should have the opportunity to speak to GWR and Network Rail directly. If you were able to attend, I hope you found this evening informative and helpful. I will host similar “Ask the…” events in the future – so watch this space.
"I recently met with Blenheim Estate executives to discuss how Blenheim continues to support our local economy and local communities. It was very encouraging to hear how Blenheim are committed to this good work, and to discuss their plans to further support the local area. I will continue to consult with Blenheim on their future plans in this line of work, making representations on your behalf and highlighting the issues you have raised with me.
"I am aware of concerns regarding the high number of HGVs in Woodstock and Bladon. As a resident of Bladon, I regularly see for myself the danger that heavy, fast HGVs pose. I will continue to fight for improvements to our road network such that HGVs can be routed away from towns and villages. Whilst there is no silver bullet to this issue, A40 improvements are crucial if we are to make significant, long-term progress.
