"Congratulations to everyone involved in the project to build the new Woodstock Youth Club Centre! I was so pleased to see the new building officially opened in May. I know how hard volunteers have worked on this project, and it is brilliant to see the huge amount of support for this fantastic initiative. This new facility will be an enduring gift to our community. Well done!
"I greatly enjoyed visiting the ‘Raz Ma Tazz’ table top sale in May. This was a hugely successful event, with so many groups coming together to raise money for a wide range of good causes. As a keen conservationist, I was particularly pleased to join Sustainable Woodstock, and to support their campaign to reduce single-use plastic consumption in our town. ‘Raz Ma Tazz’ truly was a testament to the compassionate community here, and I look forward to attending more charitable events throughout Woodstock and Bladon over the summer.
"In other news, in May, I raised the issue of the A40 with none other than the Prime Minister, Theresa May. During Prime Minister’s Questions, I highlighted the need for improvements to the A40, and upgrades to the Cotswold Line. The PM agreed that this is an ‘important issue’, and was supportive of my plans to push for the necessary upgrades. A very encouraging response, indeed – and I will continue to push for the improvements we all want to see.
