Alongside Councillor Thomas Ashby I recently visited Windrush Place following concerns raised by residents around promised infrastructure that has not yet been delivered.
I was incredibly troubled to hear from residents of developers' failure to act on promises made in their proposal under their section 106 agreement with the local council
Under the S106 obligation it was agreed that the developer would be required to, most importantly provide a local centre and shop alongside a commitment to provide: a sports pitch & sports pavilion, affordable housing, a new primary school, maintained bridleways, pedestrian crossing and bus shelters.
Residents have detailed how they have now been waiting nearly 5 years for these infrastructure projects to be completed and it has resulted in significant issue for those living on the estate and their ability to access community services due to the huge increase in demand.
I have now raised this with the local council to ask for a timeline and concrete plan of action to deliver on the outstanding infrastructure projects needed to fulfil the S106 obligations and I will continue to follow progress on this closely to ensure the infrastructure promised to residents is delivered.
