Work to extend platforms at stations along the Cotswold Line has been progressing in recent weeks. Most platforms on the Cotswold Line will be lengthened to accommodate seven of the 26-metre-long coaches. This will allow doors to be opened on six coaches of nine-car and 10-car IET formations when they call at the station in both directions.
Commenting on the work at Hanborough Station, Robert said: "It's great to see improvements at Hanborough coming along. Extending the platform is an important step in upgrading the station and improving the experience of passengers - ensuring we need not sprint down the train to be on the correct carriage when the doors open.
"We now need to push on and achieve the full re-doubling of the line, with more integrated bus services and cycle links, to ensure Hanborough can be West Oxfordshire's public transport hub."
