Digital Secretary Nicky Morgan has launched a £30 million UK-wide competition to spark a tech revolution in countryside communities and help rural Britain seize the opportunities of 5G technology.
Responding to the announcement, Robert said: "This is another step forward for rural broadband this morning as Government announces further investment to ensure that areas like ours are properly connected.
"This will enable vital rural services like schools and hospitals to be connected, as well as the innovative, world-leading businesses based in our market towns and villages which need a fast internet connection to thrive - at the same time as reassuring those in rural towns and villages that as we bring better mobile coverage to their homes and businesses, the environment is protected."
