Robert started his 2018 Volunteering Week at the Hailey Community Woodlands - Breach Wood - in association with Wild Oxfordshire and the Wychwood Project. He is using this week to highlight the fantastic volunteer groups we have here in West Oxfordshire.
Robert said, “I am excited to – quite literally – roll up my sleeves and get stuck in volunteering this week with a whole range of charities and community groups all over the constituency for my second annual Volunteering Week.”
As Parliament is in recess, Robert is using his time away from Westminster to encourage more people to get involved in their community.
Over the course of the week, Robert will spend over 13 hours volunteering with many brilliant local groups, including Wild Oxfordshire, Sunshine Cat Rescue, Guideposts, the Blue Cross and Bridewell Organic Gardens.
Robert continued, “After the success of last year’s Volunteering Week, I wanted to use my time away from Parliament to draw attention to more of the excellent local groups and projects we have in our area.
“No matter how busy we are, we can all afford to give up a small amount of our time to give back to the communities that make our area so special. I want to thank everyone who is taking the time to let me join in with their groups this week – and I am excited to get started!”
