Witney in the Pink has been a major fixture of Witney's calendar for almost two decades and in that time has raised over £250,000 for the charity Against Breast Cancer.
The event was founded in 2000 by Witney resident Jeanne Chattoe, who was determined to raise money towards breast cancer research, fund pioneering treatments and improve early diagnosis, so she inspired businesses in the town to dress in pink for a day and hold events to engage the local community in breast cancer awareness.
As well as supporting the event, Robert presented Jeanne with a “Points of Light” award from the Prime Minister - congratulating her on her outstanding voluntary work.
Robert said: "It was very moving to see so many people brave the cold and wet autumnal weather - and to see so many local shops and businesses decorated - in support of this crucial cause.
"I was particularly pleased to present Jeanne with her Points of Light award, which she richly deserves for all her work in our community."
