Robert said: "I made my first speech on climate change when I was at school - and have been a passionate conservationist ever since. Living in West Oxfordshire, with its beautiful green countryside and diverse wildlife, environmental considerations are always at the forefront of my mind.
"We have made immense strides in recent years: the UK has the fastest rate of decarbonisation in the G7 and we are the first major economy to have legislated for net-zero emissions. I welcome the Prime Minister's ambition for us to go even further, promising a "clean energy revolution" led by a majority Conservative government.
"We do not need to make a choice between tackling climate and having a strong economy. In fact, a strong economy is required to effectively tackle climate change. That is why we will harness the power of science, innovation and technology to tackle climate change, spur economic growth and create high skilled, high wage jobs."
