Robert recently met with Defence Minister, Tobias Ellwood, alongside Leader of West Oxfordshire District Council (WODC), James Mills, to discuss the redevelopment of the REEMA sites in Carterton.
The REEMA sites have had planning permission for over a decade but development has been consistently delayed, despite the pressing need for homes in the area.
Robert and WODC are working with the Ministry of Defence to break the deadlock and met with Tobias Ellwood, the Minister responsible for the Defence Estate, to call for progress.
Speaking after the meeting, Robert said: “Had a constructive meeting with the Minister and James Mills to discuss the REEMA sites. It’s crucial that we all keep pushing for the redevelopment of these brownfield sites to provide the high-quality affordable housing Carterton and the RAF needs, and our service personnel deserve. I’m determined to work with all involved to deliver on this.”
