Robert said, "Armed Forces Day is a chance to thank those who serve and have served - to support not only those men & women who make up the armed forces community, but also the families who support them, and the veterans for whom we all have so much respect.
"Here in West Oxfordshire we could not be more proud of those who serve, particularly in Carterton, so close to the largest base in the Royal Air Force - RAF Brize Norton.
"I visited today - enjoying the familiar rumbling of the Herc overhead - but what is really important is the bringing together of families and communities, from the armed forces and the local community.
"Thanks to all those who organised & supported the day, and particularly Oxfordshire Play Association, whose Smoothie Bike provided a fun way to get exercise and, at the same time, much-needed refreshment on a hot day!"
