I am passionate about ensuring we have clean and healthy rivers in West Oxfordshire. While we have delivered significant steps forward on reducing pollution from sewage overflows and agricultural run-off at a national level, I am determined to hold Thames Water to account locally.
That is why I recently hosted a Water Action Day, taking leading figures at Thames Water on a tour of West Oxfordshire so they could see first-hand the problems we are experiencing and to demand urgent action, particularly on specific issues affecting Standlake, Brize Norton, Tackley and Clanfield. I was pleased to give local Parish Councils and constituents the opportunity to raise their concerns directly with Thames Water.
While I welcome Thames Water's promise of major investment and infrastructure upgrades in our area - what is clear is that urgent action is required. Please be assured that I will continue to hold Thames Water to account and ensure they deliver the upgrades our network needs.
If you have any issues or concerns that you would like me to raise with Thames Water, please do let me know at robert@robertcourts.co.uk.
