Robert said: "Small businesses across West Oxfordshire will be delighted with the measures announced yesterday to ensure that small businesses get paid quickly - ending the unacceptable culture of late payment.
"The proposals would see the Small Business Commissioner - who I went to see recently - given the power to tackle late payments through fines and binding payment plans. In addition, company boards will be held accountable for supply chain payment practices for the first time.
"This is a massive victory for the APPG for Small and Micro Business, which I Chair, the FSB, and the small business community more widely, which has long campaigned alongside me to end the culture of late payment."
