Robert hosted a public meeting in Charlbury with Great Western Railway and Network Rail so that residents can raise their concerns and feed into the consultation on the future of the GWR franchise.
Robert said, "I want to thank everyone who came along to my ‘Ask the GWR’ event yesterday in Charlbury. I hope you share my feeling that this was a fantastic chance to discuss local concerns with Great Western Railway and Network Rail. Many of us rely on the railways to get to work and see family and friends, and this was an opportunity for us all to have an open and relaxed conversation about how this service can work better in the future.
"There is an open consultation about the Great Western Rail Franchise that I will be formally responding to, building on points raised and discussed at this meeting.
