During Transport Questions, Robert asked the Transport Minister what he is doing to work cross-department to promote cycling and encourage more joined-up thinking in the approach to cycle infrastructure. Robert also asked whether he would work with him and the County Council to explore the possibility of approving the B4044 Community Path as a standalone bid to the Housing Infrastructure Fund.
Robert said: "I'm disappointed that the B4044 Community Path has been withdrawn from the package of transport upgrades in the County Council's bid to the Housing Infrastructure Fund. We need to see greater joined-up thinking between government departments and I am pleased the Minister has committed to looking into the possibility of the approving the B4044 Community Path as a standalone bid to the Housing Infrastructure Fund. I have followed up my request in writing and will work closely with all involved to ensure we do everything possible to deliver this important project at the earliest opportunity."
