Robert said: "Great fun & food for all the family at the Charlbury Street Fair yesterday afternoon & evening.
"This popular community event has taken place every year since 1950, and this year’s fair was celebrating the 300th birthday of Larcum Kendal, born in Charlbury this very day, 21st September, in 1719. Kendal was a pioneer of watchmaking, making a copy of John Harrison’s first chronometer which was used by Captain Cook to aid accurate navigation on his second major voyage.
"So, this year’s theme was “Time” - and therefore a highly enjoyable and appropriate way to end a long day!
"Thanks to all who organised, and to everyone for the pizza, music and prizes!"
