"I recently invited and welcomed the Minister for Roads and Local Transport, Jesse Norman MP, to The Bartons to see the Our Bus Bartons community transport scheme first hand. The Minister was very impressed by their great work, and his visit was testament to the Government’s determination to support these excellent, volunteer-led initiatives. I was proud to show the Minister how Our Bus Bartons provides vital transport links for local residents in our rural communities, and it was a joy to see campaigners and volunteers receive the accolades they rightly deserve.
"In January, I greatly enjoyed my visit to Middle Barton School; as ever, I was struck by the cheerful spirit shared by teachers and pupils alike. This school provides a wonderful snapshot of our local community, filled with caring and supportive individuals that look out for one another.
"I have campaigned tirelessly for better broadband coverage in our area, and so I welcome the news that over 90% of premises in West Oxfordshire now benefit from superfast broadband. Access to superfast broadband is great news for families and businesses alike; however, I am clear that there is more to do – particularly in areas around Sandford St Martin and Ledwell – but this new data underlines the important progress we have made so far.
"I am conscious that many of you may have strong views on the Mullin proposal. Let me assure you that I am keeping a close eye on this. If you would like to contact me about this or anything else, you can email me at robert@robertcourts.co.uk. Or, if you see me out and about, do stop me for a chat."
