Robert Welcomes The District Council's 'New Playing Field Strategy'

I am pleased to see that the District Council has responded to the pressure from our playing fields campaign and finally committed to a ‘new playing field strategy’ aiming to protect the future of pitch sports and secure more facilities for local teams.

After attending a Witney Vikings Youth Football Club training session in the summer, I wrote to both Witney Town Council and West Oxfordshire District Council to highlight the lack of training facilities in Witney and to ask them to take action.

It is promising to see that these concerns are now being addressed and facilities for local grassroots teams like the Witney Vikings secured. I will be closely monitoring progress on this issue, and I will continue to push the District Council to secure a location for a new all-weather Astro pitch in Witney.
